Captive portal ads

You can show your own adverts on your hotspot captive portal: a new package, an installation offer, or a local business you have a deal with. Ads are managed in two steps:

  1. Upload images or videos to your ad library (Sales & Promos → Advertising, /dashboard/advertising).
  2. Schedule an ad as a live ad, choosing when, where and how often it shows (Live Ads, /dashboard/advertising/live).

Advertising Content shows every ad you have uploaded, with totals for Total Ads, Total Views, Views Today and Views This Week. Search by title or description, filter by All Types, Images or Videos, and sort by Newest First, Oldest First, Most Views or Title A-Z. Click an ad to open it, where you can preview it, edit its Title and Description (Save Changes), see its statistics, schedule it, or delete it.

  1. On Advertising, click Upload New (or Upload Your First Ad).
  2. Enter a Title and optional Description.
  3. Drag and drop up to 10 files into Media Files, or click to choose them. Images can be JPG, PNG, GIF or WebP; videos MP4, WebM or MOV; up to 10 MB each.
  4. Click Upload Ad Content. Each file becomes an item in your library.

The upload page includes Ad Banner Specifications. In short:

  • Make banners landscape, about 2:1. A good size is 800–1200 px wide by 400–600 px high; the minimum is 340 × 192 px.
  • Banners are cropped to fill the space, so keep text and logos in the central 85% horizontally.
  • For video, MP4 (H.264) plays most widely.
  1. Click Live Ads on the Advertising page, then Schedule Ad. (You can also open an ad in the library and schedule it from there.)
  2. In Schedule Live Ad, choose the ad under Select Ad Content.
  3. Pick the Days of Week it should run, and optionally a Start Time (optional) and End Time (optional) for the daily window.
  4. Set the targeting and delivery options you need (see below).
  5. Optionally set an Expiry Date (optional). After it, the ad stops showing.
  6. Click Schedule Ad. You see “Live ad created successfully”.
