Billing

Billing (/dashboard/billing) is about what you pay ISPMan for using the platform. It’s separate from the payments your customers make to you, which are under Payments, and from the invoices you send PPPoE customers, which are under PPPoE.

You need the owner role, a billing role (billing_admin or billing_reader) or a core role such as admin to see this page.

The plan your business is on, its name and description, and whether it’s billed Monthly or Annually (pay-as-you-go plans have no fixed period). Any features included in your plan are listed underneath.

The rates you’re charged, in your currency. Depending on your plan these include:

  • Hotspot Commission
  • Min. Hotspot Charge or Min. Monthly Charge
  • Per PPPoE Account
  • Per Static IP Account
  • Per SMS

The amounts for your country and plan are shown on the page itself.

Your Billing Account reference and its Balance. Money paid into this account settles your invoices.

The invoice for the current period, with its number (for example #ISP-SRW-12, using your Payments Wallets ID), Amount, what’s Paid and Due, the Billing Period, the Services it covers and your VAT ID if set. Click View Invoice to open it.

All your invoices, with Invoice number, Status, Amount, Amount Paid, Amount Due, Billing Period and Due At. Click a row to open it.

Status Meaning
upcoming The period hasn’t been billed yet.
open Issued and waiting for payment.
overdue Past its due date and not fully paid.
paid Settled.
cancelled No longer payable.

Two tabs:

  • Incoming: money received into your billing account, with Received time, Amount and Method. This is what settles your invoices.
  • Via ISPMan: charges moved from your ISPMan wallets to ISPMan against your invoices.

When you have unpaid invoices, a banner appears at the top of the dashboard, for example “You have 1 overdue invoice”, with the earliest due date. ISPMan says it doesn’t stop services automatically before contacting you to confirm, but paying on time keeps everything running without interruption.

Open the invoice from Billing (click View Invoice or a row in Invoices). The top of the invoice shows the ways you can pay.

M-Pesa is available to Kenyan accounts.

  1. Click Pay via M-Pesa.
  2. Enter the Phone Number to Prompt, or tick Use my Business Phone or Use my Phone Number.
  3. Click Pay. You’ll see M-Pesa Prompt Sent.
  4. Enter your M-Pesa PIN on your phone before the prompt expires.

The amount is rounded up to the nearest whole number, and anything above the invoice total is credited to your billing balance. Once M-Pesa confirms, the invoice is marked paid automatically. Click Refresh invoice if it hasn’t updated yet.

Click Pay with card to pay on a secure card checkout page that opens in a new tab. The invoice updates once the payment is confirmed.

If your ISPMan wallet has enough money, Pay via ISPMan appears. The confirmation shows your Wallet Balance, the Invoice Amount and the Balance After Payment. Confirm and the payment is processed immediately.

Click Print for a paper or PDF copy. Paid invoices carry a “Settled” stamp.

Use of the AI Assistant is billed as Agent credits. Open the Agent credits page (/dashboard/billing/agent-credits) from the credits meter on the Assistant page, or from the Usage link on the Agent credits line of an invoice. It shows:

  • the current billing period and Used this period, Included and Extra, billed AI tokens, and the amount On this invoice;
  • a meter of tokens used against your monthly allowance, which your whole team shares;
  • Assistant model: the AI model the assistant uses. Only owners and admins can change it;
  • Daily usage: requests and AI tokens per day.

Your plan includes a monthly allowance. Extra use is billed at the rate shown on the page, up to a monthly cap, and appears as “Agent credits” on that period’s invoice. Cheaper models use fewer tokens per question.
